If you have read the first two books in the Unturned series you are familiar with the characters which are extremely admirable. A story of the dark and light forces in Detroit here. With all the supernaturals a reader could want. There always seems to be a fight for power in these types of novels and this one is one you will want to get right back to reading if you have to get to work. Rob Cornell can write and I really hope everyone who is an Urban Fantasy fan will not miss out on this super series. I am on to the next book and I cannot wait to see where Mr. Cornell's mind takes me in the life of Sebastian Light and his partners in keeping the peace in his new community in a Supernatural Detroit.
Reading fantasy can feel like the same stories in the same worlds. This series puts together fantasy characters and a struggling urban area, while actually developing the main players into culpable, relatable people. A great read. Check it out.
I really enjoyed this book but the breakout character to me was Odi I found myself looking forward to his appearances in this story and hopefully he gets his own side story. But concerning this book the major issues that started in the first book are resolved and open the way for hopefully many more adventures I find myself awaiting them.
The third of the series, it picks up right after the second, and comes to a surprising conclusion. Reads like the last of a trilogy, yet there's plenty of scope for more books.
Overall, a decently written, well paced, fluid trilogy. I just read all three in a row last week, so I'm only writing a review here at the third book.
As a side note, you know how sometimes when you watch a tv show, or read a book, and one of the characters somehow seems interesting or unique enough to have it's own spinoff? I think there's potentially one here. Won't say more, in case you don't like spoilers.
Lot's of adventure & suspense, a little humor, and you gotta love Odi. Great read! Excellent series. I am ready for more.
